Get free health screenings at Laman for our Day of Health and Wellness on February 22nd!
Have you been putting off an important health screening? Why not take care if it at the library for FREE in the new year? Make caring for your health and taking preventative measures a resolution this year. The bus will be parked outside of Laman during our open hours on February 22nd: 9 AM - 1 PM.
About the health bus:
The Arkansas Minority Health Commission’s Mobile Health Unit (MHU) is a screening center on wheels. The MHU provides an avenue to double the Arkansas Minority Health Commission’s preventive screenings by reaching people where they are in the state. The MHU provides preventive screenings, health education and allows an opportunity of coordination of care with the MHU coordinator.
Screenings include: blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar/glucose, A1C, HIV, height, weight, BMI, colon cancer, plus more! The MHU coordinator follows up with participants who have abnormal results and shares county level resources for follow-up medical care.
