Six Bridges Watercolor Group Exhibition
"Color Wheel"
Our group works primarily in watercolor, but members also explore other water based media. We came together during the pandemic to pursue our common love of painting. We meet regularly, primarily on "Zoom" to share ideas, discuss our work, and to encourage pursuit of personal and collective artistic growth.
Our influences are to numerous to include them all, but some notable artists we admire and respect are George Post, Eliot O'Hara, Edward Hopper, Paul Klee, Georgia O'Keeffe, Andrew Wythe, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, J.M. W. Turner, John Singer Sargent and Robert Wade. You can usually see some of their influences in our work.
Our current exhibition, "Color Wheel," is made up of our collective and individual painting explorations. Central to this idea and our work, is that however varied our efforts, they are also always part of visualizing and abstracting from human experience. This exhibition focuses on our work in water based media and embodies the qualities of water. Its fluidity, transparency and its subtlety make it a challenging partner. We work individually exploring our personal visions and collectively to share in the expansive, varied and unpredictable results from our common starting points.
