Paint, swap, explore, and play all day at Garden Fest!

Welcome to Garden Fest 2026! Join us from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, April 4th for activities, lectures, and hands-on fun for all ages. 

There's always something fun to do at the library, so read ahead and get excited!

  1. Want to bring new life to your garden or windowsill? Bring a plant, seedling, or seed packet to the library and swap for something new!
    1. Location: By the Library of Things on the first floor
  2. Express yourself and add to the Community Mural! Our talented staff artists have created a paint-by-number mural that will hang in the library after Garden Fest.
    1. Location: Room 124 in the back right corner of the library
  3. Learn more about local nature organizations and do some nature-themed shopping with local businesses!
    1. Locations: In the Lecture Hall on the first floor and the Studio Rotunda on the second floor
  4. Fly up to the Loft to construct a community-art project celebrating our feathered friends! Normally a teens-only space, the Loft will be open to all ages for Garden Fest.
    1. Location: The Laman Loft is accessible by elevator or by stairs in the Children's section.
  5. Put on your adventuring cap and look for colorful fairies around the library for our scavenger hunt! Find their hiding places, write down their names, and be entered to win a prize in our library raffle!
    1. Location: All over the library!
