Part of the LGBTQIA+ community? Love books? Come hang!

Pride & Joy Book Club is a space for queer & trans adults to enjoy good books and community together. This book club reads and discusses a wide range of fiction and non-fiction that reflects LGBTQIA+ experiences. We gather to chat and celebrate that though historically they were often erased, queer & trans stories have always existed, everywhere!

This month we will discuss the memoir Hijab Butch Blues by Lamya H, available for checkout at Laman Library in the Book Club section. Plot summaries and key passages will be available at every meeting for any folks who need a memory aid. Completing the full book before the meeting is strongly recommended but not required. Just know there WILL be spoilers!

Pride & Joy meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7 PM, after hours at the Argenta Library on Main Street. Come on up the front steps and we will greet you at the door! Free parking is available on the street in front of the library and in the small lot behind it. Members are welcome to bring their own food and drink.

No registration is required for club meetings, but if you are a new prospective member, you're encouraged to email Susannah and introduce yourself!

For more information or to recommend a book, contact Susannah at sstubbs@nlrlibrary.org
