Get ready to dive into the world of science, technology, engineering, art, and math with our summer STEAM program at the library! Join Ms. Lauren for STEAM fun all summer long.
Our hands-on, interactive program is designed to spark curiosity and inspire learning through a variety of engaging activities and projects. Don't miss out on this opportunity to explore, learn, and have fun this summer!
June 5: Makey Makey Arcade - Join us as we create a huge video game controller out of cardboard! We’ll use it to play classic arcade games like Pac-Man and Frogger! Stop by and see if you can beat our high scores.
June 12: Dinosaur Discovery - Take a trip back in time to the Late Cretaceous period. You’ll get to dig up fossils and come face to face with a baby T. Rex!
June 26: Shrinky Dinks - We'll learn how to design and create our own Shrinky Dinks using a variety of materials and techniques. We'll also learn about the science behind how the plastic shrinks, explore the math involved in measuring and scaling designs, and experiment with different colors and textures to create works of art.
July 3: Sundae Science - We’ll concoct ice cream using dry ice (and science)! We’ll also learn about the different states of matter while enjoying our frozen treat.
July 10: Where Does Honey Come From with Calm + Confidence - A beekeeper with Calm + Confidence is joining us to demonstrate the honey making process! We’ll learn the ins and outs of honey production and how it’s harvested from a hive!
July 17: Sky Dome - Crawl into an inflatable planetarium for a fun filled tour of the night sky! We’ll learn about constellations and hear stories of astronomical proportions.
June 24: Raptor Rehab - Learn about birds of prey and their roles in the environment with Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas. Come meet their avian ambassadors!
