Zines Activity Pack
Between Two Worlds
Monday, August 03
All day
Swing by the Argenta Library to pick up one of this month’s activity pack that will guide you on how to make a variety of zines. Each pack will feature a small history of zines and more!
Each pack comes with a folding guide, all the materials you need to make a zine, a small history of zines (including their relevance & specific history in Yiddish culture) and examples of contemporary Yiddish zines.
Young Yiddishists today are making their mark on a centuries old Yiddish literary canon with an innovative, ephemeral, and often radical publishing medium—the zine. Zines are a tool for building and bringing together communities, so help the Argenta Library in developing our own collection of zines!
The Yiddish Book Center’s Public Libraries Program brings Yiddish literature in translation to public libraries across the United States to deepen their engagement with Yiddish literature and Jewish life, religion, and culture, and to foster vibrant cross-cultural dialogue and discussion in their communities.
This program is best for adults & teens, with no expected skill level or familiarity with the Yiddish language! Activity packs available while supplies last.
