Join us for a different kind of Saturday morning at your local library. In Cold Reads n' Cold Brews we're taking the stage back to the page by doing cold reads of the latest and greatest plays from around the world, with a themed cold-brew drink. (Readers will be selected and scripts provided at the beginning of the event). The reading will be followed with a brief discussion. Don't wanna read aloud? No worries, just sit and sip with us. This month's selection is Cole Escola's hit comedy "Oh, Mary!" Read the summary below:
"Oh, Mary! is an uproariously dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot."
