A primer on the subject of fanvids—what they are and why people make them, with lots of different examples!

You may be familiar with the concepts of fanfiction and fanart, but what about fanvids? Come get a crash course on the subject, and maybe discover a whole new way to enjoy your favorite TV shows and movies!

We will talk about what fanvids are, some common terms used, and the current legal status of fanvids as a medium. Then we will watch examples of several different kinds of fanvids from multiple different fandoms. Will your favorite be represented?

Some sources will be PG-13, and may contain violence. There will be quick-moving imagery and cuts in some vids. If you have any triggers you are concerned about, please ask. Contact Megan at mhines@nlrlibrary.org for questions!
