Adrianna Kimble-Ray's "Connected Through Color: Parts of a Whole"
Kimble-Ray's Bio:
Adrianna Kimble-Ray is a black multidisciplinary artist. Originally from Jacksonville, AR she is now based in Little Rock. During her time in undergrad, she became fascinated with utilizing lively and vibrant color palettes in her work. She also became extremely interested in transforming static illustrations into dynamic animation. Creating duplications and making artwork that has multiple pieces and components to it has become a central theme in her artwork. In her free time she reads art books and is always trying to learn more about color and how it can be utilized in art. Artist's Statement:
Connected through Color: Parts of a whole is a body of work that examines two concepts at the same time: how color can be utilized in different art mediums and how compositions can take on different appearances when they are placed along side other pieces in a series with iterations and variations.
Connected through color examines color and reapplies it through different art mediums such as animation, digital illustration, and collage. Connected through color functions as an experimental project for Kimble-Ray and is her first solo exhibition. A recurring theme in her work is the concept of using technology to create artwork. She does this by using the digital software Adobe Illustrator for animations and digital illustration and using a Cricut cut machine to get out shapes for collages.
This is the secondary branch of the William F. Laman Public Library located in the heart of the Argenta Arts District of North Little Rock.
