Part of the LGBTQIA+ community? Love books? Come hang!
Pride & Joy Book Club is a space for queer & trans adults to enjoy good books and community together. We will read and discuss a wide range of fiction (and occasional non-fiction) that reflects LGBTQIA+ experiences. We celebrate that though historically they were often erased, queer & trans stories have always existed, everywhere!
This month we will discuss the poignantly honest coming-of-age novel Call Me By Your Name, available for checkout at Laman Library in the Book Club section. Plot summaries and key passages will be available at every meeting for any folks who need a memory aid. Completing the full book before the meeting is strongly recommended but not required. Just know there WILL be spoilers!
Pride & Joy meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7 PM. Meetings will be held at Flyway Brewing in Argenta. Find us tucked away at the table behind the half-wall to your right when you walk in. We'll have books, name tags, and a sign. FYI, though it's known for beer, Flyway has soda and lemonade as well as a great food selection! Sober folks welcome.
Registration is recommended (but not required) to ensure that we have enough books and chairs for everyone. Our current table fits about 12 people comfortably.
