"fake it til you make it"

What is fake? What is real? What does it mean to make it? What questions arise when this statement is said? Do we ever arrive? Should "making it" ever be the end goal?

"fake it forever" is not a statement of inauthenticity or an encouragement to mask who you truly are.  It is a longing to give grace to mistakes, a calling to return your childlike amazement, a desire to get lost in the woods, to play make-believe and pretend.  It's embracing the truth that we never really "make it."  We may be grown but we adore how we are still growing and have the glorious ability to shapeshift and change our minds as we commune with each other and the world around us.  Our eyes and heads and hands are open.  May we never arrive.

SLUGKNIVES (Jenna Jones) makes use of a jigsaw, scroll saw, and acrylic paint to portray insects, slugs, and worms interacting with their surroundings in vibrant colors. Her love for heart-shaped kitsch and midcentury recipes is evident in her works on canvas and paper. She gifts her creations their own personalities, reimagining creepy crawly creatures in a playful light.

SULAC--Hello Friends,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   This all-new series came together over the last few months and was made using old paper, acrylic paint, India ink, various markers, pencils, glue, and let's not forget the scissors.
