HUMAN THREAD
This exhibition from Tanya Hollifield consist mainly of a new series by adding disparate items such as fabric, paper, print media and paints to her drawings feels, she is weaving a story and creating characters that are composites of various scenes and people.
My line work has always been the predominant element in my 2-D art. But recently I have been exploring way to weave a story or build characters that become their own, stepping away from just capturing a model or person with expressive lines. The exhibition consist mainly of a new series, which adds depth and meaning to my drawings, by adding disparate items such as fabric, paper, print media and paints. I am weaving a story and creating characters that are composites of various scenes and people. This gives each piece a more multi-layered character. In doing this I found a was less inclined to name the pieces because they seemed to name themselves in the making. I hope you can find the connecting threads that are woven within each piece, perhaps even finding a person connection.
