Artist Statement
I’m fairly new to the ceramic world. I was gifted a ceramic class and instantly fell in love with it. Handbuilding satisfies my creativity and inspires me to look outside the box. At first, I looked on social media for molds and tools I could use. I found my leg mold at a garage sale and instantly knew that I could make anything with it. That dusty mold created all of these cool pieces. I started working in ceramics two years ago. I was lucky enough to grow up with artistic parents. My father is a Latin percussionist and my mother a seamstress. Their influence is shown in my ceramics. I enjoy making fashion and cultural items for my family, silly things for my five kids, and of course, legs!!
