A hand-crafted kitchen tool you’ll be proud to serve with—no pizza required (but highly recommended)!
Do you remember when you were a kid, and the guy in the local pizza shop had that awesome pizza cutter that looked like some kind of big sword? Those pizza cutters are called pizza rockers, and we want to show you how to make one of your own.
In this two-part class, we will use the table saw to cut our wood into size, the bandsaw to shape our handle, and the drill press to drill holes in both wood and metal. Then, we will glue our brass dowels into the handle. On day two, after everything is cured, we will use the sanders to smooth out the surface and apply a food-grade finish to the wooden handle. We will also sharpen the blade. Then you can take your pizza rocker home and cut pizzas like the guy in the back of the local pizza shop.
Whether you’re a pizza connoisseur, an aspiring woodworker, or just love a good DIY project, this hands-on woodworking workshop is saucy in all the right ways! Under expert guidance at the North Little Rock Public Library System’s Innovation Hub, you’ll craft your very own custom pizza cutter.
