Gain confidence in the woodshop with this hands-on woodworking workshop designed for beginners ready to explore different styles of saws.

If you've always wanted to try woodworking but feel intimidated by the equipment, this class is the perfect starting point. You'll learn essential woodshop safety and receive expert guidance on operating key tools, including the table saw, miter saw, and band saw. By the end of the workshop, you'll feel comfortable selecting the right tool for the job and using it safely. This introductory class is ideal for anyone looking to develop foundational woodworking skills. Plus, after completing the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to become a Hub member, take the shop assessment, and gain full access to the woodshop to bring your creative projects to life. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking for a refresher, this class will set you up for success in woodworking.

This class requires pre-registration.

In this hands-on class, you'll learn: 

  • The differences between a table saw, miter saw, and band saw.
  • How to choose the right tool for the job.
  • How to properly set up each piece of equipment.
  • How to operate each of these machines safely.
