Join us for a FREE engaging and interactive professional development workshop that connects children’s literature with nature-based learning! This session will introduce participants to creative, hands-on activities from Project Learning Tree (PLT), paired with thoughtfully selected children’s books. Discover practical ways to inspire kids to explore the outdoors, build a love for nature, and become thoughtful stewards of the environment. Registration required.
What is Project Learning Tree?
Project Learning Tree is a nationally recognized environmental education program that uses forests and trees as pathways to teach youth about sustainability and the natural world. Designed for educators, parents, and community leaders working with preschool through 12th grade, PLT is a program of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
Meet the Instructor:
Rob Beadel brings nearly three decades of experience in environmental education. As the Director of Forestry Education for the Arkansas Forestry Association Education Foundation and the State Coordinator for Project Learning Tree, Rob has a passion for connecting people—especially young learners—to the natural world. He is a Certified Interpretive Guide, a certified Nature Journaling Instructor, and has earned national recognition for his leadership, including the 2015 Conservation Educator of the Year award and the 2021 PLT Gold Star Award.
