Intro to Hand-Sewing for Teens

Make Your Own Animal Bean Bag Handwarmer!

In this cozy, creative 1-hour session, teens will learn the basics of hand-sewing while creating their very own rice-filled stuffed animal that doubles as a microwavable handwarmer!

No experience? No problem. This class is designed just for beginners—and all materials are provided.

Whether you're curious about crafting, love DIY gifts, or want to learn a relaxing and useful skill, this workshop is a great place to start. You'll leave with a soft, snuggly creation made by you—and sewing skills you can build on!

First come, first served! Limited to 10 participants. This is a beginner-level class for teens ages 13–18, taught in a welcoming, relaxed environment with step-by-step guidance from our instructor, Lauren.

What You'll Learn: 

• Hand-Sewing Basics – Learn simple stitches and how to safely thread a needle
• Stuffie Construction – Stitch together your own small animal plush using fabric templates
• Rice Filling & Functionality – Add rice to transform your plush into a soothing microwavable handwarmer
• Personalization Tips – Make it yours with buttons, felt, fabric markers, and other embellishments
