Part of the LGBTQIA+ community? Love books? Come hang!
Pride & Joy Book Club is a space for queer & trans adults to enjoy good books and community together. This new book club will read and discuss a wide range of fiction that reflects LGBTQIA+ experiences. We celebrate that though historically they were often erased, queer & trans stories have always existed, everywhere.
This month we will discuss epic myth retelling and romance The Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller, available for checkout in eBook form or in physical form at Laman Library in the Book Club section. Plot summaries and key passages will be available at every meeting for any folks who need a memory aid. Completing the full book before the meeting is strongly recommended, but not required. Just know there WILL be spoilers!
Pride & Joy meets on the third Thursday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m. Meetings will be held at Flyway Brewing in Argenta. Find us at the long table in the back right corner of the brewery when you walk in. We'll have books and a sign. FYI, though it's known for beer, Flyway has soda and lemonade as well as a great food selection! Sober folks welcome.
Registration is recommended (but not required) to ensure that we have enough books and chairs for everyone.
