The final meeting of our monthly, teens discussion club centering on BIPOC authors, poets, and guests to take us past what we see and connect us to who we are.
A monthly discussion club centered on BIPOC authors and stories. Our final title is The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo.
Laman Library has received an incredible grant from American Library Association to host eight sessions of the Greater Stories Book Club in two parts: Deeper Than Our Skins, and Finding Your Voice.
This club is discussion based, centered on BIPOC authors, poets, and guests to take us past what we see and connect us to who we are.
Each meeting will include free food, hands-on activities, and supportive discussion of the themes and events of the month's chosen title. It is not necessary for you to read the book to be a part of this discussion. (Wild, I know, but it'll work -- just trust me).
May 21st from 4:30-6 PM we will meet in Room 126 at Laman Library for this meeting.
We have space for only 8 students who will receive a free copy of the book to keep.
Register with Bekah at bekah.smith@lamanlibrary.org by May 20th.
This is the primary location of the William F. Laman Public Library.
